Ondine Rest Area, 5pm, mid-August, on BC Route 23 from Revelstoke, British Columbia, on the way to Nakusp on the Lower Arrow Lake / Columbia River.

Becausec of the angle of the setting sun, it's a natural astronomical (solar) rainbow site! -- for those who know. Me, I just got lucky. Said hi to a mother with two kids who drove up to see it as they often do. One can see it from a picnic table but not from the road, not without knowing, or one can hop right in and nearly touch it before it vanishes in the up-close wall of splash and noise.
