		the evening
		dances in the luster of lights on a Black man's dusky skin
		from the falling darkness
		it retrieves his light hurried steps
		the swaying rhythm
		his hips
		wrapped tightly
		in fawning red canvas
		on his convex mouth
		in his concave ear
		bits of light
		tremble
		and the night
		has the cloudy passionate face
		of a Black woman from a town near Philadelphia
		her hills of breasts
		lifted by a corset
		whose tenderness
		more perfect than her wide lips
		has stuck fast
		to her skin from the brown south
		it is creeping
		in a gust of warm wind
		from her hips along to her neck
