		On the stony island -- a landscape contoured with
		an icicle, set in all the night's stars.  They
		burn.  The sharp roofs of houses prick the sky --
		it bleeds.  Underneath the dance of the golden
		lamps the simple angels of desires fly low --
		the human eyes in the marble of still faces.
		On the stony island generations blossom and the
		ocean absorbs the thick	scent of subtropical
		flowers.
		The ocean licks the stony island's feet.  Manhattan --
		my home.  Manhattan -- my hell and heaven.
		Manhattan -- my only homeland.  When I will be
		dying I will lie down on the stony island's
		shore, and the ocean will put under my head
		a pillow of brown foam.  Manhattan -- the open
		eyes of the houses -- shine.

		krajobraz oprawiony we wszystkie gwiazdy nocy.
		Pl/ona/.  Ostre dachy domo/w nakl/uwaja/ niebo --
		krwawi.  Pod tan/cem zl/otych lamp fruwaja/ nisko
		proste aniol/y pragnien/ -- oczy ludzkie w marmurze
		nieruchomych twarzy.  Na wyspie kamiennej pokolenia
		zakwitaja/ i duszny zapach podzwrotnikowych
		kwiato/w -- ocean chl/onie.
		Ocean liz/e stopy kamiennej wyspy.  Manhattan --
		mo/j dom.  Manhattan -- moje piekl/o i niebo.
		Manhattan -- moja jedyna ojczyzna.  Gdy be/de/ umierac/
		pol/oz/e/ sie/ na brzegu wyspy kamiennej a ocean
		poduszke/ z brunatnych pian podsunie pod moja/
		gl/owe/.  Manhattan -- otwarte oczy domo/w -- s/wieca/.
