		in order to write about these roses
		I hurried infinitely
		to write before they died
		I stood pressing my fingers to the window

		I looked on their death
		they bled
		complained through color
		and simply
		kept wilting
		I looked on their death
		I examined my mouth
		in the agony of roses

		and when shrunken snuffed out
		they stuck impersonally to one another
		I went away
		jamming my nails into my fingers
		I went away
		into a different death
